Evie is back in the US!
As you may have heard, Evelyn arrived back in the US in early February. After enjoying a wonderful birthday celebration with friends, family, and long-time OTA supporters during her very first week back from Africa, Evie headed for the Arizona desert. While in the Grand Canyon state, Evie had an opportunity to share the mission and vision of Outreach to Africa with many churches and community groups. It was an excellent trip spent reconnecting with dear friends and meeting new ones.
Our School continues to grow, and we are so happy to be able to report that it has been ranked first in the district. Our teachers have worked hard and have demonstrated great dedication to successfully delivering a top quality education for our students at Paul Devlin. The students have also done their part; their work ethic, and genuine commitment to excellence leave the school’s leadership feeling a deep sense of pride and achievement. Congratulations to all!
These good reports have certainly boosted the reputation of Paul Devlin School. Enrollment has increased dramatically, and the number of kids who do not have sponsors has grown as well. We have always stretched ourselves and made due, as we did not want to turn any children away from school. Unfortunately, this year we have had to revisit that policy. Without the financial support of sponsors, the costs are just no longer manageable. While we are happy to report that while Evie was working in Arizona, 11 new sponsors signed on, there are still 80 kids who are waiting for sponsorship. Some of these kids were students at Paul Devlin in past years, many are totally orphaned, so it breaks our hearts that we are not currently able to accommodate them at the school. We are confident that we will find sponsors for them soon.
Please consider getting involved, or encourage people or groups you are connected with to sponsor a student at Paul Devlin Academy. http://outreachtoafrica.wordpress.com/children-in-immediate-need-of-a-sponor/
